Sock Monkeys for the Cure
This weekend’s Free Press included a story about Oak Park’s Wendy Shepard-Appelle who makes and sells sock monkeys to benefit her team in the Michigan Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. What a great idea! Here is the full story: Daughter makes sock monkeys for the cure. You can make a donation and keep track of Wendy’s fund-raising at Socks Moneys for the Cure.
Are you crafting for a cause? We’d love to hear about it in our comments.

Hi! What a surprise it was to see this link! Thank you so much for creating the connection. The sock monkeys for the cure project has been a really moving and exciting activity for me. What I’m most struck by is how amazing the “sock monkey society” is around the world! All of these needlecrafters, taking hours to create each sock monkey - and they are all absolutely individual and unique.
Thanks again for the link! I hope to see some of you on the website or blog!
With hopes for a cure,
Wendy
